Cody Berillo earned her BS in Family and Child Studies from Northern Illinois University and has her MSW from Aurora University.

Since 2018, Cody has been providing grief support services to the community of Rockford. She has worked with different organizations throughout the community to provide advocacy, crisis intervention, and grief support services to local families in various settings. Cody offers grief counseling, support, and companioning to the bereaved.

Cody believes companioning bereaved individuals involves reflecting on the physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual parts while following a holistic model. She has experience working with children, adolescents, and adults in the areas of death and grief, anticipatory grief and terminal illness, extended grief, and caregiver support.

Cody is currently working towards earning her certificate in Grief and Death Studies through the Center for Loss and Life Transition in Fort Collins, CO and plans to utilize this to offer grief coaching and counseling.
